Hāna Tropicals is a family owned and operated florist and plant nursery. We specialize in orchids, anthuriums and tropical flowers. We ship nationally to all the states and territories of the US and we lovingly put together flower arrangements for delivery within the Island of Maui.

We choose to think of ourselves as a joyous sense of the exotic… Imagine the shade house where orchids and anthuriums are lovingly tended. Picture the overpowering jungle in the background with the Hawai’ian kukui trees and coconut palms creating shade from the heat. Imagine fields of ginger flowers, huge heliconia flowers peeking out from under the travelers’ palms, orchids growing from hapu’u and bromeliads in differing colors lining the walkways. Think of 20 years of experience in growing flowers in this last bastion of Hawai’ian culture at the end of the Hana Highway.

Most of the land is covered in tropical rainforest and Hana Tropicals has over 6 miles of rough trails covering our 420 acre farm. Close to the Orchid house there is a contemplative labyrinth.

We grow our own organic food and we have recently added edible ginger plants at our higher elevations which are growing to better than organic standards. We will sell the edible ginger to local health food stores. We have 3 chickens named Lay Lay, Ya Ya and Nay Nay which scratch about in the dirt all day and provide us with our eggs which have deep yellow yokes and remind us of our childhod before the advent of intensive chicken farming.

Pepper is our farm dog and catches mongoose. She is a delighful mutt and everybody loves her. Last but not least are our cats. Moma, Pocket Rocket and Sweet Pea at the orchid house and Kiko Kiko and Hula at our house. They are all working cats as their task is to keep the area free of rats and mice.
