How to Grow the Tillandsia Air Plant

Watering:
Spray misting is insufficient as the sole means of watering. Tillandsia are happy when they get a good soak 2-3 times each week.
Fertilizing:
Use a good, water soluble fertilizer at 1⁄4 the strength recommended on the label and only use it once a month. To apply fertilizer, make a solution and spray the plants.
• (N) Nitrogen should be in the form of ammonium or nitrate, not urea (which needs soil bacteria to break down).
• (P) Phosphorus – an excess is not harmful and helps combat an excess of nitrogen.
• (K) Potassium is not harmful in large amounts.
• Copper, boron or zinc in minimal quantities under 0.5%.
