Moringa FAQ

What is Moringa?
Moringa Oleifera is a tree native to the Himalayan foothills, cultivated extensively in India and parts of Africa. Found mainly in tropical and subtropical areas, Moringa is a drought resistant and fast growing tree that can be harvested year round. Moringa is an ancient superfood also known as the “miracle plant.” The leaves, bark, flowers, fruit, seeds, and root are all rich in medicinal properties and nutritional benefits. For centuries, people have used its leaves and pods as a valuable food source. The leaves of the Moringa tree are recognized as some of the most nutrient dense, and can be used as a dietary supplement or applied topically.

What are the nutritional benefits of Moringa?
The Moringa leaves are high in vitamins A, B, C, D, E, K, and minerals including potassium, calcium, iron, selenium, and magnesium. Packed with antioxidants and protein, Moringa can also help improve digestive health, maintain healthy cholesterol levels, boost the immune system, and reduce inflammation.
Ounce for ounce, Moringa leaves contain:
- 7 times the vitamin C found in oranges
- 4 times the calcium found in milk
- 2 times the protein found in milk
- 3/4 the iron of spinach
- 3 times the potassium found in bananas
- 4 times the vitamin A found in carrots

How is your Moringa grown?
Our Moringa is grown using organic and sustainable practices. Our products are raw, gluten free, all natural, vegan and made with aloha! We harvest our Moringa early in the morning, when the leaves are at peak freshness and nutritional content. We walk the fields and select the healthiest, greenest leaves and inspect each one for quality. Our leaves are then washed, sorted, and stripped to prep for the dehydration process. We process our Moringa in small, controlled batches; dehydrating on the same day to avoid deterioration of the nutritional properties of the leaves once they are harvested. Preserving the quality and nutritional content of our products is our priority; our Moringa leaves are dehydrated at the optimal temperature to ensure our product is dried to perfection in just a few hours. The dehydrated leaves are blended into a fine powder for our superfood supplements and soap products. These products come with a moisture absorbing, dehumidifying desiccant packet to prevent oxidation and to preserve the quality and nutritional content.

How do you suggest consuming Moringa?
We enjoy adding our Moringa powder to drinks, smoothies, pestos, dips, or salad dressings. It can also be added to soups and stews when cooking, but we recommend adding it raw at the end of cooking or just before eating to optimize the nutritional benefits. We recommend starting with just 1.5tsp of powder as Moringa is incredibly nutrient dense. Check out our Moringa ebook HERE.
